The Smoker – Short Film

DSC_0067 IMG_4460 DSC_0022

I had the pleasure to work with some new people just recently. I got offered a cool new script doing some fx makeup which is right up my alley. Shot over a few days and with a small crew we produced an amazing little short film.  The priest I used a bald cap and latex and tissue, colouring to make it look singed and burned. The second actor had less burns. I used gelatine and my favourite illustrator pallets. Thanks again to Sarah Iversen my makeup assistant for helping me out once again. Well done to Phil Wittmer Films for putting together a great short film. Till the next one …….

Epic Cat Video Short Film

Once again I got to work with Little Red Balloon Films and Troop Productions. Fell was there previous short film. My brief was 5 humans and transform them into cats…. and to be as realistic as possible. My amazing actors were all based in Brisbane whilst I was in Sydney. Many nights were spent researching products, prosthetics, and transforming my own face into different coloured cats. I worked very closely with my two makeup assistants Beck Gardiner and Katrina Anger.

I ended up ordering my prosthetics from North Fur in Canada. Using a combination of prosthetic paints airbrushed and wolfe colours brushed on creating texture. My actors were all so excited for the opportunity to transform. Each actor being in the makeup chair for nearly 3 1/2 hrs. I think they loved every minute as much as the makeup team. A special thanks to Beck and Katrina, I couldn’t have done it without you both. Lauren Brown and Keiran Brice a special thanks for allowing my contribution to the film and for pushing my creative limits even when I felt like I had hit the wall. You pushed me further to be able to deliver past my expectations. This is a very proud moment in my career. Looking forward to the next film……

Short Film – Fell

This is one of my short films I worked last year and it was shot in Tasmania, (in July- SO COLD). What an amazing experience and talented cast and crew. It was accepted  into Cannes Film festival 2014. There was a lot of planning that went into the makeup for the actors to create the most realistic look for the overall film. Dirt, bruising, beards and open wounds is the type of  makeup looks you will find in this film. Produced by Little Red Balloon Films and Troop Productions, I look forward to work with them again soon.

De Gloving

Hi everyone,

Opps! I think I need to see a doctor.

Im back again experimenting with again some sculpt gel A, B, C and some fake blood. I think the sculpt gel works well creating the tendons. Getting some ideas together for halloween. It seems far away but its not! Stay tuned for more looks.

Open Wound

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share a little of my makeup testing just recently. Thank you for my friend Rhys offering his foot for the afternoon. This was much easier than using my own for this one. I used a combination of sculpt gel A, B and C to create my dimensions and my fav, illustrator inks. Using methods of splattering, washes and intense colour this was my final piece…..

Stay tuned much more to come…..

Amanda
